Is it heavy?
Carrying the weight of blood soaked sand?
…of mountains and stone
built from ravaged,
broken bones…
…of roads paved over valleys of
wildflowers and golden crops…
…of rivers shouting echoes of
screams, drowning whispers
flooded with oil and greed…
…of rotted trees and rotted teeth
picked and picked apart…
…of wolves howling for less each
crescent moon, crows and buzzards
starved as they circle barren lands…
…is it heavy?
Carrying the weight of man?
